Corrosion Passivation 27 months later: Ballast Water Tank Ocean going vessel.

During October 23rd till October 25th 2014, mv Flintersky got her complete set of 10 DB-tanks treated with nC Nano Corrosion Passivator (NCP). Projectleaders Superintendent Flinter mr. Job Pannekoek, and nC Surface Technology BV mr. Rob van Hoorn. This process was done without sandblasting or coating, as NCP passivates corrosion (making it inactive). Goal here was to maintain material thickness of corroded webframe as it was. Underneath pictures tell the story of corrosion passivation tank DB5PS so far.

Flintersky DB5PS tank man hole cover area 2 days after corrosion passivation. As a result, the previously visible active rust is now quiet, passivated.

Jan 2017, Flintersky during lay-by at Schaardijk, Capelle a/d IJssel, Netherlands. The vessel is renamed Thorco Sky.

Jan 2017, Flintersky (or Thorcosky now)  from the bridge, during thickness measurings of the wingtanks (no treatment or coating) and the nC Nano Corrosion Passivator double-bottom tanks.
